HARIDWAR & RISHIKESH (4 Days)

DELHI-HARIDWAR-RISHIKESH-HARIDWAR-DELHI

Day 01: Delhi - Haridwar - Rishikesh
Early morning transfer to the Railway Station

Leave: Delhi by Shatabdi Express at 0710 hrs
Arrive: Haridwar at 1110 hrs

(Packed breakfast will be provided on Board)
Upon arrival, the guests will be met & transferred for sightseeing tour of Haridwar
Haridwar is considered very holy, as this is the point from where the Ganges emerges from the Himalayas to begin its slow progress across the plains. The main ghat 'Har ki Pauri' (the footsteps of God) is suppose to be the precise spot where the Ganges leaves the mountains and enters the plains. Consequently the river's power to wash away sins at this spot is superlative and endorsed by a footprint of Vishnu left on a stone here.

Lunch at the hotel

Afternoon, drive to Rishikesh ( 24 kms)

Rishikesh - surrounded by hills on three sides, Rishikesh is a small town built on the sandy banks of river Ganges. This is an excellent place to stay and study yoga, meditation and other aspects of Hinduism.

On arrival in Rishikesh - check into hotel

Evening walk down to Triveni Ghat by the Ganges river to witness evening "aarti" which starts at 1800 hrs. Each evening at sunset priests perform Ganga aarti, or river worship, when lights are set on the water to drift downstream while priests engage in elaborate rituals. Hundreds of people congregate here each evening to witness traditional Hindu prayer.

After aarti, return to hotel.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Rishikesh
Morning visit the nearby temples and the suspension bridge, Lakshman Jhula, which was built in 1929 to replace the rope bridge. This is where Lord Rama's brother Lakshman is said to have crossed the river on a jute rope, and the old Lakshman Temple is on the west bank.
Lunch at hotel
Afternoon at leisure for own activities and to enjoy the facilities of the resort
Overnight at hotel.

Day 03 Rishikesh - Haridwar - Delhi
Breakfast at hotel
Morning at leisure for own activities.
Lunch at the hotel
Late afternoon transfer to Haridwar railway station

Leave: Haridwar at: 1810 hrs by Shatabdi Express
Arrive: Delhi at: 2240 hrs.

Upon arrival meet & transfer to the international airport for onward flight.

Day 04 Delhi - Abroad
